How have you been? I hope this missive finds you well.
As you know, we are in the middle of re-organising our lives and preparing for a move to Singapore. Needless to say, there is much to do and time feels like a slippery fish - I can barely hold on to it, and sometimes it slips from my fingers.
Although the blog has been bare for a while, there is still cooking going on behind the scenes, after all we still need to eat. Most days, the food is fast and prepared with a minimal of fuss. Some days, the meal is a hodge-podge of assorted leftovers which prompts raised eyebrows and muttering from the MC’s. I can only predict that dining combinations might get little bit stranger as we try to eat our way through the food that’s in the pantry and in the freezer.
On the other hand, there are constants to tide us through. A fresh loaf of sourdough is baked every other day - at least breakfast is tastily familiar. But one cannot live on sourdough alone. And too much time spent away from ‘fun baking’ just cramps a girl’s style. So a loaf of “puppy-dog bread” and the follow up “bunny bread” made an appearance. These loaves certainly put a smile on our faces and reassured me that the baking mojo is still there. I hope you enjoy the photo-sequence of these cute loaves.
ps - The puppy bread was inspired by the hilariously cute panda bread made famous by this Japanese blogger. The recipe was from Do what I like.
I added a couple of teaspoonfuls of reduced raspberry puree for the
pink. This needed a little bit of food colouring too as raspberry puree
seems to bake a purply colour.
